BILLBOARD4 New York is the landmark national charity project devoted to public art, in which a selected group of exciting artists and creatives will curate large scale art pieces across major cities in America. Each artist will create a special run of signed and numbered Billboard4 limited edition charity prints to coincide with their wall art. Proceeds from the sales of the BILLBOARD4 charity print will go directly to the artists chosen charity. The Bridge series will feature a unique collection of five original works each a homage to New York’s legendary bridges, starting with Nick Walker, the UK street art pioneer whose iconic works have featured at the forefront of the global street art movement over the last three decades.
The proceeds from the sales of this edition will go to Walker’s chosen charity The Coalition for the Homeless, whom provide emergency food and clothing, eviction prevention, crisis services, permanent housing, job training and programs for youth to more than 3,500 homeless and poor New Yorkers each day, while their advocacy fights for the proven, housing-based solutions to end modern mass homelessness once and for all.
The works were unveiled at a weeklong pop-up location in Manhattan’s West Village complete with live music and DJ’s from the Manhattan’s Rose Bar and Cocktails curated by Ilegal Mezcal’s expert mixologists and Nick Walker himself.
The print has already sold out online but there may be a few left at the gallery which will be showing Nick’s canvases pretty much until the end of the month.
